Ishikawa Fish Bone: Metode Seru Setelah Membaca Buku

Membaca belum tentu dibaca. Kalimat yang cukup ‘menampar’, bukan? Oleh karena itu, pada hari Minggu, 5 Februari 2023, TBM Nyamaca belajar membuat Ishikawa Fish Bone atau disebut juga dengan diagram tulang ikan yang diciptakan oleh Kaoru Ishikawa. Beliau adalah seorang teoritikus organisasi Jepang dan profesor pada Universitas Tokyo.

            Sebelumnya, Nyamaca bisa tahu tentang Ishikawa Fish Bone itu berawal dari perbincangan bersama Bunda Literasi Kecamatan Ganeas. Saat itu, Ibu Eva Herman Suwandi menerangkan bahwa membuat Ishikawa Fish Bone bisa membantu anak-anak lebih tahu tentang isi buku yang sudah mereka baca. Selain itu, beliau juga mengajari, menjelaskan, dan menggambar diagramnya.

Membuat diagramnya pun cukup mudah karena bentuknya memang seperti tulang ikan. Pada bagian tulang (Sunda: Cucuk) terdiri dari kalimat tanya seperti apa, siapa, di mana, kapan, kenapa/mengapa, dan bagaimana. Kemudian, pada bagian ekornya diberi tulisan dengan judul buku dan bagian kepala untuk amanat atau pesan yang didapat dari buku yang sudah dibaca. Metode ini akhirnya kami praktikan kepada anak-anak. Mereka pun mulai menggambar, membaca, dan kemudian mengisi poin-poin yang sudah dibentuk menjadi diagram tulang ikan tersebut.

“Sebelumnya ingin mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Bunda Literasi Kecamatan Ganeas yang sudah mengenalkan metode Ishikawa Fish Bone,” ujar Arini Seiawati sebagai ketua TBM Nyamaca, “Jujur awalnya kurang percaya diri, karena khawatir anak-anak merasa jenuh. Tapi, ternyata setelah dipraktikan justru mereka tertarik membuat Ishikawa Fish Bone. Untuk pertama kalinya memang mereka agak kesulitan meskipun dikerjakan secara berkelompok dan berkali-kali menanyakan hal yang sama. Tapi justru, saya merasa dititik itu mereka belajar untuk mengembangkan kemampuan dalam menangkap dan memahami isi dari buku yang dibaca dengan cara yang seru,” lanjutnya.

Mengingat kalimat awal tentang membaca belum tentu dibaca, metode Ishikawa Fish Bone ini sangat bermanfaat dan membantu agar lebih paham lagi tentang isi buku yang sudah dibaca. Dengan begitu anak-anak bisa lebih paham dan tidak melupakan bacaan dengan begitu saja.

Selain belajar membuat diagram tulang ikan, anak-anak juga secara tidak langsung belajar berdiskusi dan membangun kerja sama tim. Semoga saja kegiatan ini terus berlanjut dan menjadi kebiasaan untuk kedepannya. Memiliki koleksi diagram tulang ikan rasanya keren, bukan?
