Saya Dian Sukmara, Kepala Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan, sebagai bagian dari Pemerintahan Daerah Kab. Sumedang, mengucapkan “Selamat” atas inisiasi dibukanya website untuk Forum Taman Baca Masyarakat (FTBM) Kab. Sumedang, mudah-mudahan ikhtiar ini dapat membangun masyarakat Kab. Sumedang, yang lebih konstruktif dan lebih menggigit bagi perwujudan Sumedang SIMPATI.
Sumedang SIMPATI merupakan sebuah upaya pemerintah dalam meningkatkan marwah yakni kehormatan dan harga diri masyarakat Kab. Sumedang, baik antar kabupaten di wilayah provinsi maunpun dikancah nasional bahkan internasional. Hal ini sesuai dengan identitas dan eksistensi nama SUMEDANG itu sendiri, yakni Insun Medal Insun Madangan. Aku lahir Aku menerangi. Nama Sumedang ini memiliki Core Spirit yakni memberikan pencerahan, atau istilah lainnya enlightenment ataupun renaissance dalam alqur’an disebut Minazzulumati Ilannuur.
Hal ini merupakan kewajiban bagi setiap kita sebagaimana firman Allah ta’ala:
ٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يُخۡرِجُهُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِۖ
Allah Pelindung orang-orang yang beriman; Dia mengeluarkan mereka dari kegelapan (kekafiran) kepada cahaya (iman).

Dengan keberadaan website FTBM ini, tentunya akan memberikan dampak positif yang sungguh luar biasa bagi masyarakat khussnya pemerintahm terutama dalam beberapa hal sebagai berikut:

  1. Wadah sosialisasi kebijakan
    Sosialisasi kebijakan ini bisa dilakukan dengan mencantumkannya ke dalam website Iini. Sehingga masyarakat bisa mengaksesnya kapan saja.
  2. Keterbukaan informasi publik
    Pemerintah dapat menjamin keterbukaan informasi kepada masyarakat. Hal ini penting untuk meminimalisir rasa ketidakpercayaan masyarakat.
  3. Forum komunikasi alternatif kepada masyarakat
    Dengan fungsi ini diharapkan pelayanan pemerintah kepada masyarakat menjadi lebih efisien dan cepat.
  4. Media informasi suatu daerah
    Website ini, dapat menampilkan informasi potensi suatu daerah, potensi wisata, kuliner khas daerah, dan informasi lokal lainnya.
    Dengan demikian banyak manfaat website ini bagi berbagai kalangan. Website tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi entitas bisnis saja melainkan juga bagi komunitas. Website Forum TBM yang beralamat di www.maracasumedang.com ini diharapkan mempu menjadi pendukung kegiatan serta aktivitas komunitas lainnya.
